Another crazy week

We retrieved Robin fromUGA yesterday. That is one tired little bulldog! Her basketball camp experience was a mixed one, as to be expected for a first time out. She loved the drills, the skill challenges and the coaches. She loved the girls and made many new friends. The camp experience and the UGA experience was outstanding. But the evenings were tough as she had a hard time turning the brain off and no family there to lean on when she got tired. But we both survived and she's thinking towards next year.
She's come home and this morning headed off for just the last 2 days of Vacation Bible School up at First Baptist Grayson to visit with some of her friends. Our understanding from kids in the neighborhood is that she's much in demand; many of her friends attend FBG, so this will give her an opportunity for a little social time.
Cori is studying for her learner's license. She and Keith went yesterday and she got confused so didn't get the permit. We'll try again next week. She interviewed at the Grayson House for a position as a bus-boy and got the weekend gig. Sounds good, but we're a bit concerned about the Sunday hours and are doing a bit of praying about it. An occasional Sunday would not be so bad, but she is rotating with 2 other girls, so she'll only get every 3rd Sunday off as I see it. We're going to try it for now, with the understanding that if she begins to miss the fellowship and learning at Shiloh, she can seek other work arrangements. I'm hopeful we can accomplish a different compromise with Miss Dot once we understand what the job entails.
Today, she heads off with some friends for lunch at Fuddrucker's. Trial run on being a teenager as the parents will either be cruising the parking lot or sitting in a different part of the restaurant to allow some teen-time that is not so closely supervised. We'll see how this works out before we commit to any other outings; but I suspect it will be fine. This is either a great bunch of kids, or they've all "Eddie Haskell'd" me. Hmmm..
Work has been a real bear this week. Just problems, not so much work. They will be resolved, but much footwork must be done to get it accomplished. I am so thankful that I now have 2 more sets of ears and 2 younger, functioning brains to help with much of the day-to-day." Our week has also been bittersweet in that we got a bit of "Barb Time" on Tuesday afternoon. She and Cori and David and went for some bowling, a little pool (too much like Geometry for me) and some coffee at Starbuck's. I'm sure Carolyn was appreciative of bringing a wide awake David home after 9! We all had a wonderful time, but it was probably David's last quality time with Miss Barb. It would seem that we'll all be saying that a bit too much in the coming weeks. July seemed so far away when they first accepted the move to Arizona, but now it is way too close..
