Learning to live with "50" has given me some different insights than being in my 40's, so this seems like a logical place to share them! I have 2 beautiful girls and a "shared son". On any given day, there are many, many kids running around my house and I love each and every one of them! I'm a firm believer that housework is unhealthy. My last several attempts at "deep cleaning" have resulted in bodily injuries and sinus infections that I am sure were caused by the improper use of caustic cleaning products.(Is there a class where you can learn this stuff????) So, in an attempt to keep grandmas updated and everybody in the loop, I'll endeavor to be more prompt in my postings. 'Not sure what I'm doing with the technology, but I'm pretty sure that I'll be able to get some help from my kids should I falter ... Enjoy!

Surprise!!!

Our friend Chelsea turned 16 today and last night we had a surprise bonfire with most everyone from Shiloh PB on hand to wish her a sweet 16! The banner, though we taped it to the poles upside down (duh!) and couldn't get it hammered into the ground as planned, was supported beautifully between two of the many large trees on the Shiloh grounds. David and Annette Bacon, Chelsea's mom, are truly sneaky folks (gotta love that about them) and were able to keep the secret from her even as they were driving into the parking lot at Shiloh. She was truly surprised! We had a great time cooking hot dogs over the fire, playing games throughout the evening, then making Chelsea don her crown and feather boa so there would be no mistaking the birthday girl!
Cori had to work, but came a bit later ... just in time for cake AND s'mores!

Then it was back to our house for an evening of "girl stuff"... not sure what all that entails except a lot of giggling, a lot of nail polish, many, MANY bobby pins and outrageous eyeshadow (compliments of Miss Betty Puckett). Here are shots of the "in progress" and the glamour shots of Chelsea, Pam and Danielle. I would say Brother David has his work cut out for him with these beautiful girls!

Pam, Robin and Danielle were fast asleep by 1:00 a.m., I am told, but the others got the giggles and didn't succeed in any sleep until after 3:00 a.m. This morning, Chelsea, Chrisie and Cori (our 3 "C's") were soundly snoring away on Cori's futon ... that's Cori and Chelsea striving for just a little piece of the bed and Chrisie quite comfy in the middle!

We had a great time with all of the girls last night. And our evening at the church was wonderful, as usual.

Hmmm.... don't we have more birthdays coming up?
