Learning to live with "50" has given me some different insights than being in my 40's, so this seems like a logical place to share them! I have 2 beautiful girls and a "shared son". On any given day, there are many, many kids running around my house and I love each and every one of them! I'm a firm believer that housework is unhealthy. My last several attempts at "deep cleaning" have resulted in bodily injuries and sinus infections that I am sure were caused by the improper use of caustic cleaning products.(Is there a class where you can learn this stuff????) So, in an attempt to keep grandmas updated and everybody in the loop, I'll endeavor to be more prompt in my postings. 'Not sure what I'm doing with the technology, but I'm pretty sure that I'll be able to get some help from my kids should I falter ... Enjoy!

First Day Update!

The girls called when they got home yesterday just full of news!

Cori is very excited that she has a class and lunch with Sean and one of her new friends from AYC has the same chorus assignment. Starting off very good! Our only homework assignment last night was reading the many syllabuses and signing off on the expectations.

She was very worn out by 4 - and took a nap. It is so hard to get back into the discipline of bed by 9 and up by 5:15. She does the morning part much better than the evening part. Cori is naturally a night owl so the 9 pm bed time is very tough for her - always has been. But last year, we let her indulge in a little nap before dinner and really never saw her. So we had to wake her grumpy self up so that she could go to sleep at a decent hour. I went in at 10 and she was a goner, so this may work with just small refresher nap in the afternoon (wish I could get one of those!)

Robin's day is also quite full. She claimed to have run up and down the 3 flights to her classes at least 4 times yesterday. Can we say buns of steel? She was excited to see all of her friends there that she hadn't kept up with during the summer. It looks like she's going to have a busy schedule and because she is like her mom with a complete lack of organizational capabilities, we're going to have to hire her a secretary to keep up with her! We also found out that there is an opening in Miss Renee's Girl Scout Troop - which is a very BIG deal around here - so we will be doing Scouting again this year! We had not planned it; her troop last year was brand new and didn't quite gel, but being in Miss Renee's - well that's a whole different matter! And typical Robin, she was wide open until she sat down and then was fast asleep!

Still got to go get a few supplies (yuck) which I hear are perhaps going to be hard to find. And only 3 more weeks until football starts ... Yeah!
